I've always been a maker, and have enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, drawing, flower arranging...pretty much anything for as long as I can remember! When people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would tell them "an artist".

Now, I get to live that dream through my jewelry creations!

Our Story

In 2010, I ordered some DVDs to learn how to make jewelry. You can only make so many gifts for people, so with the help and support of my husband Tom, we started our business, BowerHouse Creations. We sell my work at arts and crafts shows, a couple of local stores, and now on our own website!

I couldn’t have moved ahead in this business without the love and support of Tom, my husband and best friend. Tom works behind the scenes handling the bookkeeping and providing the “muscle” needed in setting up our tent at the various events we attend.

My Jewelry Making Journey

I’ve learned from and been inspired by many wire artists in my jewelry-making journey. When I began making jewelry in 2010 I had gotten some instructional DVDs and a book by Dale “Cougar” Armstrong, where I first learned how to wire wrap frames for gemstone cabochons.

Several years later I was inspired by the work of Nicole Hanna of Nicole Hanna Jewelry. Specifically, her pendants made by wire weaving around various kinds of beads. Simultaneously, I became interested in heady-style wire wrapping and discovered the work of Emily Nelson, The Nordic Artisan. These talented artists and many others have been great influences in my pieces today.

In 2022, I came upon the work of Sandra Younger, who uses different stringing materials in her jewelry making, and from her learned how to make and add cords to many of my pendants.

In 2023, I began adding adjustable cords instead of chains to some of my pendants. I also began incorporating Czech glass beads into the necklace cords, earrings, and bracelets I create. I am enamored with the variety of styles that Czech beads can present in and have really enjoyed utilizing them more in my craft.
